Hi guys, I hope you’ve all had a lovely Easter! We celebrated our few days off work by having a trip to the Isle of Wight for a few days to visit family. Whilst we were there, we decided that we should use the time to see things we never actually saw whilst living over there.
So in our short couple of days on the island we: visited the original St Catherine’s lighthouse near Blackgang Chine, took a walk to the Devil’s Chimney in Bonchurch, walked the coastal path from St Catherine’s Lighthouse and did some off-road hiking, walked around the moat at Carisbrooke Castle, went to Bembridge Windmill, went to the top of Culver Down, walked the length of St Helens beach, and visited some old favourites such as Steephill Cove, Shanklin Old Village and drove the Military Road.
1 – These pretty pastel coloured beach huts at St Helens. Aren’t they just adorable?
2 – A sunny afternoon spent at the beautiful Steephill Cove, and finding a new envy for the people who live here and whose gardens are little pieces of private beach!
3 – Finding a tree swing out in the woods in Niton. We spent far too long here climbing the trees and playing on the rope swings – so fun!
4 – This determined little face. He was trying to steal my new eyeliner from this month’s Birchbox – look how focused he is!
5 – A delicious and super sweet banoffee curd from the Rock Shop in Shanklin. How I lived on the Isle of Wight for so many years and never set foot in that huge sweet shop I’ll never know!
Happy Easter :-)
