Why are we Fascinated by Abandoned Spaces?
February 7, 2018

We are so, so close to the end of January, and I for one cannot wait to welcome the month of February. This week was a busy one, and despite feeling super sleepy this weekend, I forced myself to get out and about, and am so glad that I did! It’s so tempting to stay in at the weekend and hibernate, but that often makes it feel as though the two days we have for ourselves can just slip by, with little to show for it. This weekend, we went out looking for something that might change the way we live our weekends for years to come…

1. A tasty meal at the local brewhouse for a team member’s leaving ‘do’. Said team member is one of my closest friends, as well as a valued colleague – she will be sorely missed. Luckily, we get to have another leaving lunch with her on her official last day in February, so twice the celebrations (and emotional goodbyes)!

2. A trip to the dentist with no work required – it’s always a tense few minutes isn’t it? Sat in that chair, having your dental hygiene scrutinised with a whole load of poking and prodding.

3. Another creme egg devoured this weekend…

4. Dreaming up travel plans for Jona’s birthday in March. It may be a road trip around some beautiful parts of the UK, or perhaps a long weekend in somewhere fancy in Europe, but it’s nice to have something to look forward to!

5. We went out van-hunting this weekend. We’re thinking about buying a van of some description and converting it into a camper. There’s lots to consider – like size, shape, make, model, but it’s all rather exciting! It’ll be great to have a project to work on, and if it means we can drink tea easier on the road, then even better!
